Have you heard? You can join the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Digital Summit on October 19th. The free, day-long event will highlight “how digital is being used by government agencies, clinicians, , scientists, patients, and the public to communicate information on health and science.” Digital tools and technology are changing rapidly. At HIV.gov, we know these tools are vital to extending the work of the HIV community. The NIH Digital Summit is designed to explore how the use of digital tools is changing the ways in which patients and caregivers get their health information, how doctors communicate with their patients and each other, and how researchers pursue their studies and share their scientific ideas. As accessibility to health information increases, the Summit will encourage discussion about what health agencies from both inside and outside government are doing to reach their audiences.

The Summit will feature four engaging panel sessions. The morning panels will feature members of the public and will focus on how patients leverage digital tools to manage their health. In the afternoon, health professionals and scientists will talk about how they share and communicate science and health information within their communities and to the public.
