With this year’s Marketplace Open Enrollment period underway, individuals and families who do not already have coverage can join the millions of people who are already enrolled in an affordable health plan through the Marketplace, thanks to the Affordable Care Act.

The Affordable Care Act provides a historic opportunity for people living with HIV, including those currently receiving services through the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program. Delivery of comprehensive HIV care and treatment services is a hallmark of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program. In 2014, Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program grantees across the country assisted clients with enrolling in health coverage – many for the first time.

Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program grantees in Missouri and Kentucky shared their 2014 open enrollment experiences, highlighting how the Affordable Care Act assisted them in providing seamless support for their patients and showcasing the work they did to facilitate their clients’ enrollment into affordable health coverage. Open Enrollment in the Marketplace runs through February 15, 2015. Your coverage can start as soon as January 1, 2015 if you sign up by December 15, 2014. If you're renewing your coverage, you can renew any time between now and December 15 to have changes take effect by January 1, 2015.
