New today: Please watch and share 14 videos featuring White House National Mpox Response Deputy Coordinator Dr. Demetre Daskalakis answering important questions about mpox (formerly known as monkeypox) posed by Kaye Hayes, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Infectious Disease and Director of the Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Policy (OIDP).

These consumer-friendly videos provide answers to such questions as:

  • How are we doing with vaccine? Is there enough?
  • Are mpox vaccines only for people who know they’ve been exposed to someone with mpox?
  • Where can I get the mpox vaccine?
  • Do I need two doses of the mpox vaccine?
  • And more!

These videos are intended for all those interested in learning more about mpox—not just people with HIV. But people with and at risk for HIV are certainly an important audience; a recent study found that 61 percent of people who have been diagnosed with mpox have also either been diagnosed with HIV or another sexually transmitted infection (STI) within the previous year. It’s important to get the word out about how mpox is transmitted and prevented.
