“You'll never know everything about anything, especially something you love.” - Julia Child
This quote sums up our approach to using social media and digital tools to advance HIV prevention, care, and treatment. At HIV.gov, we believe that innovations in communications are at the heart of our work with our partners to advance activities at the national and local levels. That’s why we’re committed to two things:
- Continuously learning how we can use social media and digital tools to achieve our mission.
- Sharing what we know with the HIV community, so that each of our partners can more effectively achieve their missions.
To achieve #2, we offer a series of technical assistance services:
Virtual Office Hours
Through Virtual Office Hours, HIV.gov offers free, personalized technical assistance to help federal and non-federal HIV program staff with how to use digital tools and social media channels to improve their outreach. These one-on-one meetings provide you with the opportunity to ask ANY question and receive personalized help. Whether you are looking to define your audience and need help reaching that population, or you want assistance signing up for a particular social media platform and need a basic tutorial on how it works, we’re here to help! Schedule a session today: 45-minute phone calls are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00-4:00 p.m. (EST).
Social Media Labs
In coordination with select HIV and public health conferences, HIV.gov provides one-on-one technical assistance in-person at social media labs. These events give you the opportunity to sit down with one of our social media experts and to brainstorm together about how to use digital tools to manage your HIV program, launch your next campaign, set up a social media profile account, or develop a digital strategy for your organization. Stop by one of our social media labs soon and let us help you better understand and use social media. To learn about upcoming social media labs, sign up to get emails on our social media activities.
