In support of National HIV Testing Day (NHTD), CDC’s National Prevention Information Network (NPIN) will host a Twitter chat and Thunderclap, which are available to all partners.

The Twitter chat will be held on June 23 from 3 to 4 p.m. EDT, and it is moderated by @CDCNPINExit Disclaimer, director of CDC’s National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP).

Featuring federal and community partners, the #NHTDChatExit Disclaimer aims to:

  • Raise awareness about NHTD events across the country,
  • Promote CDC’s national Doing It campaign, and
  • Share best practices for motivating all adults to get tested.

Participation in the Twitter chat is easy: Follow along with the questions when the moderators start posting at 3 p.m., and then chime in to share your thoughts on HIV testing, NHTD, and local events.

Leading up to the Twitter chat, partners are encouraged to join NPIN in a five-day social media countdown to raise awareness and build momentum for the #NHTDChat. All anyone has to do is follow @CDCNPINExit Disclaimer and retweet the countdown messages.

Everyone can also raise awareness and support testing by joining NPIN’s #NHTDThunderclap Exit Disclaimer —an easy way to share and amplify the #DoingIt message across social media. The NHTD Thunderclap will occur on June 27 at 1 p.m. EDT. Sign upExit Disclaimer now!Editor's Note: Here are more resources leading up to #NHTD: for HIV Testing and Services visit the Locator.
