The National HIV/AIDS Strategy (NHAS) is our nation’s first comprehensive plan to reduce new HIV infections, improve health outcomes for people living with HIV, reduce HIV-related disparities, and achieve a more coordinated national response. Released in July 2010, it outlined specific action steps to achieve the Strategy’s goals through 2015.

The White House Office of National AIDS Policy (ONAP) is in the process of updating the Strategy, the plan that drives the U.S. government and partners’ response to HIV/AIDS domestically; the updated Strategy will advance this work for the next 5 years. To truly make this a national strategy, ONAP and the Federal government are seeking the input of a wide range of stakeholders: people affected by and living with HIV, representatives of government at all levels, businesses, faith communities, philanthropic organizations, members of the scientific and medical communities, educational institutions, interested citizens, and others.

Share Your Ideas for the Updated Strategy

An online feedback forum has been launched to collect ideas about what should be included in the updated Strategy. Located at nhas.uservoice.com, the feedback forum allows users to submit their recommendations and/or vote and comment on the ideas and recommendations of others.

Timeline

Ideas may be submitted through Friday, May 22, 2015.

How it works

To submit your input:

  • Visit nhas.uservoice.com
  • Sign up (choose ID/password) to register on the site, which is required to submit ideas, comment, and vote. No registration is required to view others’ ideas and comments.
  • Click on one of the four NHAS goals to enter your ideas and suggestions for achieving that goal. Link your ideas to the Strategy’s “Steps.” Be as specific as possible! Suggestions and recommendations framed around the Strategy’s Steps and Actions are most useful.
  • Submit your own ideas and/or vote or comment on the recommendations of others.
Your Feedback Matters

This process will allow a wider range of audiences to voice their suggestions for how we can work together to achieve an AIDS-free generation. ONAP will review and consider your ideas as we move forward toward updating the Strategy.
