The International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2022) in Montreal featured important advances in HIV/AIDS research, with more than 100 presentations highlighting research sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Throughout the conference, HIV.gov spoke with Dr. Maureen Goodenow, Director of the Office of AIDS Research at the NIH.

The NIH supports research and training to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic and improve health outcomes for people with HIV. The conference underscored the Institutes’ crucial role in HIV prevention, testing, treatment, and cure.

Dr. Goodenow also discussed the interactive AIDS 2022 Global Village, where communities from around the world gathered to connect, share, and learn from one another about innovative ways to translate research into action.
