YTH Live Social Media Lounge

This April, those working in youth advocacy, health and technology will gather at the youth + health + tech (YTH) Live ConferenceExit Disclaimer. Taking place on April 6-8 in San Francisco, this conference showcases new technologies that are advancing the health and wellness of youth, young adults, and other underserved populations. Over 600 attendees and 2,000 online participants are expected at this year’s conference. Among the topics covered, there are several that highlight sexual health and utilizing technology for HIV prevention and education. Sessions and poster presentations offered at the conference include:

 

  • Calling All HIV Providers: Resources and New Media for You
  • Advances in STD Testing Diagnosis and Results
  • More than “just” tracking time: measuring engagement within an internet-based HIV/STD intervention

Attending YTH Live in San Francisco?

Interested in using blogs, podcasts, Facebook and Twitter, but not sure where to start? Want to increase your organization’s reach? If you are attending YTH Live, volunteers will be available to answer your social media questions in the Social Media Lounge. The lab will be open April 6-8 at Hotel Kabuki in Room Spring A. Specific hours are listed on the schedule. Topics offered in the lounge include but are not limited to:

  • Developing an effective social media strategy
  • Using social media tools for social change and health communication
  • Producing short video and audio podcasts
  • Monitoring and evaluating the use of social media

There will also be couches, chairs, and outlets for you to recharge and update your social media accounts, do some live-blogging, and to connect with other attendees.
