HIV Long-Term Survivors Awareness Day (HLTSAD) celebrates and honors long-term survivors of the epidemic and raises awareness of their needs, issues, and journeys. The selection of the June 5th date for this observance coincides with the anniversary of the first official reporting of what became known as the AIDS epidemic. (Learn more in our history of HIV and AIDS timeline).

This year’s HLTSAD theme is “It Is Still Not Over.” To follow and join the conversation about this observance, there are several hashtags you can use: #HLTSAD2018 #ItIsStillNotOver #LongTermSurvivors.
