Two journal articles on recent HIV care innovation projects funded by HRSA's Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) highlight care insights and challenges for Latinos living with HIV. Both articles feature programs under the Special Projects of National Significance (SPNS).

• A trusting and supportive relationship between a patient navigator and a client, and empowering those individuals to remain in care are the takeaway messages from "No Estas Solo": Navigation Programs Support Engagement in HIV Care for Mexicans and Puerto Ricans Living in the Continental U.S. in the Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved (May 2019). This qualitative examination was on Mexicans and Puerto Ricans living in the U.S.
• Interrelated factors (from stigma to fears about immigration status) can interrupt continuity of HIV care and merit further examination in better understanding and addressing HIV outcomes. That insight is in the second qualitative study, Intersectionalities and the HIV continuum of care among gay Latino men living with HIV in North Carolina, in Ethnicity & Health (May 2019).
