During the second day of the International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2016) in Durban, South Africa, we met up with HRSA leaders Jim Macrae and Letitia Robinson at the U.S. government booth.  Mr. Macrae is HRSA's Acting Administrator and Dr. Robinson is Senior Advisor at HRSA's HIV/AIDS Bureau. HRSA administers programs engaged in both the domestic and global responses to HIV.

During their conversation, they spoke about the great learning and sharing opportunities they have had at the conference as well as how they've appreciated hearing about challenges, lessons, and opportunities from diverse settings. Of particular interest to them have been strategies for integrating HIV care into primary care and translating scientific advances into practice on issues ranging from prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV to pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).
