“Healthy People 2020: An End of Decade Snapshot,” a report summarizing progress toward achieving the nation’s 10-year health objectives, is now available. The Healthy People initiative provides data, information, and tools to drive action and help all Americans live long and healthy lives. The high-level report provides a snapshot of national progress as well as progress within population groups, showing variation by race and ethnicity, family income, and other factors, and identifies nationwide areas for improvement. The report shows that HIV is one of the topic areas in which 50% or more of trackable objectives—that is, objectives with a target, a baseline value, and at least one follow-up data point collected during the decade—improved, or met or exceeded Healthy People 2020 targets.
