National HIV/AIDS Strategy (NHAS) and Ending the HIV Epidemic initiative (EHE)

Learn More: National HIV/AIDS Strategy (NHAS) and Other Key Issues and Policies

The NHAS provides a roadmap to accelerate efforts to end the HIV epidemic in the country. The Ending the HIV Epidemic in the U.S. initiative is a key component of HHS’ work to implement the strategy.

Both the NHAS and EHE recognize HIV as part of a syndemic with STIs, viral hepatitis, mental health disorders, and substance use disorders. Adopting integrated syndemic approaches helps to equitably reach people, implement more holistic approaches, and improve health outcomes.
