MLK photoNext Monday, January 20, is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a national day of community service. Each year, across the U.S., Americans from all walks of life come together on this federal holiday to work to provide solutions to our most pressing national problems, serving their neighbors and communities. This year, educating community members about the Affordable Care Act and helping individuals connect with resources that can help them enroll in coverage available through the Health Insurance Marketplace are among the service activities that will be taking place in many communities.

The Corporation for National and Community Service provides tools and resources for organizations and individuals to become engaged in service activities. These include a toolkit on educating your community about the health care law. There is also an online locator that you can use to find a service project in your community or register your own projectExit Disclaimer so that volunteers can find it.
