The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has issued a funding opportunity announcement (FOA) through its Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) to support substance use treatment service delivery to racial/ethnic minority individuals at risk for or living with HIV. The grant opportunity is supported by Minority AIDS Initiative resources that are appropriated to SAMHSA.

The purpose of this program is to increase engagement in care for racial and ethnic minority individuals with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring substance use and mental disorders who are at risk for HIV or are HIV-positive and receive HIV services/treatment. Required activities include HIV testing, linkage to care, and case management and viral hepatitis screening and vaccination services for the individuals receiving substance use treatment services.

Eligible applicants are domestic public and private nonprofit entities. SAMHSA anticipates a total of $12 million to fund up to 24 awards. Project can last up to five years. Applications are due Monday, April 22, 2019.
