CDC’s New State HIV Prevention Profiles

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently published new state HIV prevention profiles. The profiles highlight current HIV prevention challenges, opportunities, and investments in jurisdictions across the country. The profiles include information such as the number of people with HIV, the number of annual diagnoses, the percent of people with HIV who are unaware of their infection, and the number of individuals prescribed PrEP. The data presented in the profiles are from publicly available sources, including CDC’s HIV surveillance reports and publications and AIDSVu. Find your state’s HIV prevention profile here.

HRSA’s Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program 2016 State Profiles

The Health Resources and Services Administration’s HIV/AIDS Bureau (HRSA HAB) recently released the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program 2016 State Profiles. The State Profiles are presented in an online resource that provides users with a national and state-by-state look at client-level Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Services Report (RSR) data for 2016. The data visualization tool allows users to compare states, compare states to the U.S. overall, or compare data by year. AIDSVu’s 2017 City-Level Data and Maps

AIDSVu, an interactive online mapping tool, recently launched new ZIP code-level data and interactive maps for nearly 40 U.S. cities to illustrate the impact of the HIV epidemic in cities and neighborhoods. A project of Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health, AIDSVu’s mapping tools utilize data from CDC, local health departments, and prescription analytics. The new maps visualize disparities in HIV prevalence and new infections, both geographically and across different demographic groups.
