Dr. Ron Valdiserri, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Health, Infectious Diseases, and Director, Office of HIV/AIDS and Infectious Disease Policy (OHAIDP), talked with Mr. Paul Kawata, Executive Director of the National Minority AIDS CouncilExit Disclaimer, about the upcoming annual U.S. Conference on AIDS (USCA). NMAC convenes USCA, which will take place from September 8-11. Watch their conversation below to learn more.This year, USCA will focus on two major themes: the impact of the Affordable Care Act. The conference will also devote special attention to HIV/AIDS in the southern region of the U.S.

USCA brings together service providers, healthcare professionals, advocates, people living with HIV/AIDS, and policymakers to “build national support networks, exchange the latest information, and learn cutting-edge tools to address the challenges of HIV/AIDS.” The issues of the continuum of HIV care and ACA are critical and support the goals of the National HIV/AIDS Strategy.
